The Georgian Distributors Business Association, the Georgian Employers 'Association, the EU-Georgia Business Council, the Georgian Producers' Federation and the Georgian Tax Payers' Union provided recommendations to the government regarding the steps to be taken in a crisis situation:
1.The obligation to pay VAT to be arisen after the sale of the goods, which allows business to remain more turnover;
2.The process of paying income tax to be stopped for a period of 6 months;
3.The process of paying pension contributions, to be stopped as well for a period of 6 months;
4.To cancel the so-called yellow corridor during customs clearance of cargo, as an unpredictable mechanism to keep cash flowing for business;
5.The obligation to pay property tax in June to be deferred for a period of 6 months.
The organisations welcome the government's announcement of a plan to pull the country out of the economic crisis, while believing that the government should take bold, concrete and effective steps as well.
"We hope that the Georgian government will take these recommendations into account in order to avoid serious problems in the country's economy with all the negative consequences." - it is said in the statement.
